How to Save Money Traveling: Fascinating B&B in the Antique Town of Biella, Italy

Imagine you are tired to find crowds everywhere but still, love to have a vacation in Italy. Where would you go to experience the authentic lifestyle of Italians and do not renounce on the possibility to visit the most important cities and events? Bed and breakfast accommodation, in an Old Town, could be a great solution.

Amazing B&B on the Hill

We are in Biella, in one of its B&Bs, “Del Piazzo”. We speak with the owner, Chiara, about her very special property. It’s an antique building that is situated in the historical part of the town. Every stone could tell you a centuries-long story about loves and wars, about valuable warriors, and about greedy bishops.

To enter into B&B property, we pass through a kind of little cloister with the columns, antique statues and a well. The hallway exposes pieces of furniture and pictures that seem to be antique and authentic. Yes, Chiara confirms, those come from the antique store of my brother and the guest can purchase them if he want.

We arrive in the brilliant-white breakfast hall to make a coffee and go out on the terrace. We have to discuss special conditions for our tourists interested in long-term stay offers in bed and breakfast Biella. This is why it is better to prefer little properties if you want to save money. When you organize your vacations in Italy, look for bargains treating with the owners.
But the first view from that terrace of B&B hotel leaves us without words. The sun illuminates mountains that hug Biella and the frame of an amazing, breathtaking combination of infinite greenery and brilliant blue sky. Honestly, we even forgot about the coffee.

Why Choose Biella For a Long-Term Stay

Biella is a little interesting, a nice town with about 45,000 inhabitants. It is only about 1 mile (1.61 km) large and 1 mile (1.61 km) wide. This is a good fit for those who look for relaxation or for hiking and other active outdoor entertainments, but do not want to renounce on the commodities of civilization.
However, the most interesting peculiarity is its central position between Milan, Turin, and Aosta. It allows to have bed and breakfast accommodation as a camp base and enjoy lower prices, natural products in the meals you eat, and fantastic local specialties cooked not for tourists, but for locals. Because they understand how are correct local plates.

Curious Restaurant Near B&B

By the way, there is a little local restaurant near B&B. Its cook is passionate about authentic recipes in his region. He loves to tell about them and about the history of his town, too.

The Old town and B&B are on the hill overlooking Biella. You can go down to the center of the town with a funicular. The rides are free. If you want to enjoy half an hour's walk, you can arrive at the railway station. From there you can hope a bus to any part of the province.

Those who enjoy driving can rent a car and visit infinite castles, lakes and nearby fabulous locations. For example, Rhododendron Park (2 miles (3.22 km) from Biella) or Graglia sanctuary (2 miles (3.22 km)) with its longest in Italy echo; Rosazza, a masonic dream of the ideal world, and others.

This strategy of saving money traveling — agreements with the owners of the little structures like B&B (bed and breakfast), choosing a strategic position for your stay — is valid not only for Piedmont in Italy. You can use it everywhere in the non-touristic locations. The money you can use to visit more and to stay longer.
